Rosé di Maggio 2012 - Presentazione del nostro Mustiola 2011

Sunday May 13rd 2012 – from 12.00pm

On the occasion of the presentation of our new rose wine, Mustiola 2011, you are all invited for a lunch in the countryside at the “Rose of May – Event at the Castle of rosé wines and not only…”, in its second edition. It will be held in the courtyard of the Castle of Palazzo di Piero, in the ancient olive mill and in the other historic areas of the farm, including the castle’s park.
We will eat together roasts, sandwiches and bruschettas and you will taste Mustiola, our Rosé of Sangiovese 2011, our 2009 wines and a preview of our 2010 red wines, also.
As in all our events we will host other producers from our area, that will bring their products at our party. It will be an opportunity to learn more and enjoy the fruits of our land in the magical atmosphere of the neo-Gothic castle nestled in the woods of Palazzo di Piero, a few kilometers from Chianciano. In addition, if the weather will allow, those who wish can walk in our vineyards and our olive groves.

Lunch is free and open to all by booking. You can also buy tasted products.

How was the 2011 Feast for the Olive Oil?

How was the Feast for the Olive Oil?

This is the question that many have made me, as usual, after the feast of olive oil at the Palazzo di Piero.
What can I say? It went very well!

Thanks to everyone who came and those who helped to organize it! Thanks especially to all those who have purchased our products and continue to express their liking.
Sales went well, so much so that we finally finished Purneia 2006 and that our little new oil reserves have been successfully put to the test.
Start hour period of bottling to replenish our supply of wine for sale. Who wants to buy more oil is good to hasten: it will not last.
Thank you!

Harvest 2011

I risultati sembrano molto promettenti. Staremo a vedere. Insomma, i risultati della nostra vendemmia ci sembrano veramente interessanti. Aspettiamoli alla prova della bottiglia!
The harvest this year has given us the results of an unexpected quality. A very dry and hot summer has matured fruit well in advance, pushing us to pick the grapes with about 25 days in advance. Ignoring a widespread tendency to ignore this abrupt departure from the traditional calendar, we probably sheltered from excessive ripeness that seems to have affected many other manufacturers.
Continuing on the path marked by the years that have followed the 2006, we continued our choices in the care of the vineyard and cellar practices, trying to give a helping hand to those natural processes, triggered by a practice that respects the nature of plants and soil.
The first wine making, as each year highly anticipated than that of red, was for our rosé Mustiola. The results look very promising.
But what gives us great hope is the Sangiovese: tannins, acidity, body and structure and, especially, a strong identity. A wine we can only mar… We’ll see.

In short, the results of our harvest seem really interesting. We look forward to the test them in the bottle!

Thank you!
